Tuesday. I got up early and did the treadmill. I did some intervals. .15 walking, .5 jogging. Definitely increased the sweat factor! Helped me to get to that 1.5 mile mark a minute and a half faster. I think next week I could do .10 walk, .10 jog. I just say, my motivation of not embarrassing myself or my daughter in may is great, and having House of Cards episodes to watch while walking in place helps a ton.
I need to do some research why the back of my ankle hurts so much on my left (longer) leg.
Exercise: 1.5 miles

Here we are, another summer, another year passed where I did nothing to help myself. Yet, I have had a great week of self controlled eating. A great week of walks with my children. A great week of chores that keep me busy instead of finding something to snack on.
I wanted to discuss, though, how frustrating it is to see weight loss "stories" on t.v. Shows like "Today" where they highlight 100+ weight loss. I need to lose 100+ pounds. So I watch their tips. Each smaller portions, cut out soda (don't drink regular, 1-2 diets per day usually), choose this over this. All in all my eating habits aren't bad. Which I guess is why I don't necessarily gain much weight (a pound or 2 over the year, etc.) But I want there to be a solution for me, something I can "CHANGE" in a big way and then start "watching the pounds slip away." Like there's a key to use to unlock the secret for myself.
There's not.
I am doing the right things, and I'm eating healthy foods (well I could probably eat more fruits and vegetables...) and keeping calorie counts down and choosing exercise rather than laziness. Yet I don't watch the pounds slip away. Then, as I do this for a few weeks, and I only lose 3-5 pounds, I get frustrated and stop trying so damn hard.
I'm determined not to do that this time. I am determined that 274.8 will be a dusty memory for me soon, and 250 and 225 and 200 will be in my rearview mirror sometime next year.
So I set my goals, again, and I set my mind towards finding the key for myself.
August 10 - my vacation date: 260 (15 pounds gone from July 10)
August 26 (first day of school) 255
October 31 (Halloween) - 240

Today is a snow day. I find myself very motivated on snow days, like they are an extra gift of time from God himself. Slept in with the kids (after being awake from 4-6 ) and then did the treadmill. This is the beginning of my 2 weeks at 1.5 miles, and I accomplished it with not too much pain. My left leg is slightly longer than my right, and I notice it much more on a treadmill.
I have 2 weeks of 1.5. I'd like to work up to jogging more of it (I did about .15 jogging today) but I'm trying to focus on distance.
My kids are motivated by me. After my run/walk, my son wanted to go a mile
Weight: 282 (yesterday's Chinese food for dinner didn't help I'm sure)
Short term goal: lose 10 in March
Short term exercise goal: 3.1 miles in May (girls on the run 5k with daughter)
Long term: Disney princess 1/2 next February
